How to upload data from a file

"Strech" provides the ability to upload a source file that contains your data.

  • JSON

  • CSV

To upload a file click at the data sources screen on the File tab.

At the next screen choose JSON to upload a JSON file or CSV to upload a CSV file.

Then, drag your file to the uploading area.

JSON

JSON stand for JavaScript Object Notation, it is a syntax for storing and exchanging data. JSON object contains keys and values wrapped by curly brackets.

For example:

{
"name": "strech.io",
"description": "The best data streaming platform",
"version": 1.1
}

In this example JSON there are 3 keys: "name", "description" and "version" and each key has its value.

"Strech" allows uploading a json file with suffix ".json". The file must be in form of array of JSON objects. For example the file "my_data.json" will look like this:

[
{
//data
},
{
//data
},
{
//data
}
]

Note that your JSON file must be in form of array/list of JSON objects.

CSV

CSV is a comma-separated values file, which allows data to be saved in a tabular format.

For example:

name,description,version
strech.io,The best data streaming platform,1.1
strech,This is the second element,2

The first row indicates the keys (title) - which are "name", "description" and "version" separated by commas. The next rows are the values with respect to the order of the keys.

"Strech allows uploading CSV files with the suffix ".csv". For example "my_data.csv".

Please note that files won't exceed 20MB which is the file size limit
